2nd full day in Nicaragua!

This morning we woke up before 6. A miracle for me. But the sun had already come up. We had a great bible study about finding the lost. like the man with his sheep the woman with her coin and the man with the lost son. We all seem to appreciate the lost being found more and the importance in seeking the lost. Today was our first real day at our ministry sites And micro finance is nothing like I expected it to be. We rode in the back of a truck out to the site and walked to a house. Hardly a house just some beaten wood and rusty metal. No doors. Just curtains and no flooring. Just dirt. It was unbelievable. In the house was a young girl who is 13 and has a 25 day old Baby. She had a soon to be husband that is 17. You could see the brokenness in her face and honestly it broke my heart. This family worked on corn field and we helped spread fertilizer. It was crazy hot. And I had fertilizer salt stuck all over my hands. I was dirty and gross but it was a blast drinking fresh coconut water and posing for pictures on top of the hill. After we finished the fertilizing we did some home visits. It was amazing how many people are just so generous and loving. They are so willing to open up to you and tell you their stories even though they have never met you before. We went to another home where there were corn field and we helped hoe. The weeds were thick and it was about two in the after noon when we started. it was crazy hot. Really humid. And I don't think I have been so sticky and sweaty in my life. It was amazing though. Every time I would get tired or felt like stopping, I would think to myself "you are doing this to serve god, you are doing this to help this family that is in need of help" every time I would think this I would regain my energy. This thought took away my weariness and want to quit and made me want to finish the whole field. When it was time for us to leave the man who owned the land bought us a soda and cookies. We drank the soda out of a plastic bag. Which was pretty cool. But it was pretty amazing how generous everybody here is. For people that have not much more that a little land and broken down shack house. It is pretty amazing how selfless they are when it comes to thanking people and making them feel welcome. I am truly loving it here and it so fulfilling to see the smiles and encouraged faces of all the people here.. I am truly blessed

                                              Thanks for the prayers. Adios!
