The strength and the energy that we began with is beginning to wane and the excitement of being in another country is changing into a brokenness for the Nicaraguan people that we are meeting. We are starting to get into the routine of going to our ministry sites. Many of the students are becoming familiar with people customs in the communities. I have had the privilege to visit multiple sites and see acts of the Holy Spirit working through different platforms of ministry. Today, I went with Alison, Bre, and Chelsey to the health clinic. The girls have been helping the doctor on staff with SI. They take blood pressure, weight, temperature, etc. We meet with a 20 year old girl who had a 10 month old baby that was only 20 lbs. The mother was living with her boyfriend and his parents and told us that it wasn't a good situation. She asked for prayer and we were able to pray over her. In the afternoon we went into a poor community located next to the dump and set up an on site clinic. We got to love on several kids! In the evening after dinner we watched a history video on the oppression and the war that took place in Nicaragua during the late 70s - 80s. We then prayed for the people to heal and grow as a country, but most importantly for God to call people to Himself.
As we go to bed we look forward to sleeping until 8am and having a day of touristy stuff.
Please pray for strength & energy, for our hearts to continually be broken for the lost in Nicaragua, for a growing passion to serve the Lord and be available in whatever way he wants to use us.
In Christ,
Jerred
